Fiona Willis is a Bristol based artist working in watercolour and ink. Her original drawings are professionally reproduced as giclée prints on acid free watercolour paper or as cards.
Fiona is inspired by the patterns formed in nature and reproduces them as circles, spirals, lines, columns and borders. Her drawings are full of intricate detail - often she finds it hard to stop filling the space. She also uses text with her drawings sometimes repeating the words to form part of the pattern.
Fiona’s prints start their life as wholly original works in pen, ink and watercolour. They are then scanned to produce a digital image from which the giclée prints are produced. However, the digital image is not manipulated in any way and is entirely representative of the original artwork. Fiona has found this process to be the most effective way to reproduce the fine detail that characterises her work.
