Snapdragon

Snapdragon - a quirky British craft brand bringing nostalgia and quirkiness into your home. All Made in Britain

Snapdragon's Garden makes beautiful textile accessories and home wares, and has been sewing things and growing things in the Scottish countryside since 2003.

They are inspired by life around them - the plants and animals in the garden and the vintage vehicles in the drive. They especially LOVE VW Campervans – theirs is an orange 1973 Westfalia called Dougal.

Snapdragon was started in 2000 when Jane Lindsay left her job as Curator of British Art at the University of Glasgow. She started off growing cut flowers but soon realised that that is too seasonal in Scotland and began to create freehand embroideries based on life in her garden.

All of Snapdragon's textiles are made here in their workshop from British made and recycled fabrics. Jane uses her sewing machine to draw on the fabric - using the needle a bit like a pen - creating images of life around her; the seed heads in the meadow, her hens and ducks, her beloved vw campervan Dougal, the airstream. . . .
There are two main ranges - one monochrome, embroidered lines on cream wool and the other vibrant with more than a nod to Jane’s 1970s childhood.
