On grey, soot-stained walls dirty hands have been scribbling. Above the grimy blackened kettle, ideas are sketched in chalk. Hidden in London, at the back of a forge in a disused Edwardian tram depot is the blacksmith’s tea room. Out of this windowless mire of moulded damp corners and scurried mouse droppings rise the creative scrawls and sketches of an artist blacksmith. Her mind reaches out from the dark shadows cast by the harsh fluorescent tubes, to the bright and organic beauty in life beyond the addled brick walls. Her dreams are forged over a dirty chipped cup of tea and a broken biscuit.
